Sweet Mixie, is a cute must-have children's book, celebrating uniqueness and diversity.

Availability in the USA

Since starting Sweet Mixie, I have been asked if and when the Sweet Mixie book will be available for sale in the USA. I am currently looking into options to make that possible. Shipping individual orders from the Netherlands is quite expensive and I would like to keep the cost of the book reasonable and fun for everyone. I will probably look for bookstores in the major cities, if you have any recommendations...please feel free to send them to me at evelyne@sweetmixie.com

I hope to be able to give you some good news soon!

The making of Sweet Mixie

Sweet Mixie was originally a bedtime story for our son Dane. The moment that I decided to make this into a children's book, I had no idea where to start...

A long process of searching to find the right illustrator to achieve the exact results that I had in mind followed. In total I worked with three different illustrators over a period of two years time.

When I saw the work of Clara, I immediately knew she was the right match for Mixie.

The style of Sweet Mixie is soft and sweet and I chose to keep the colors that way and in pastel hues.

The next step was to find a printer. I wanted the book to be especially sturdy for little hands, yet safe at the same time. So I chose a board book with rounded edges in a smaller size (16 x16 cm), so it would be light and easy to bring along.

I didn't realize that printing board books was such a niche and spent months researching a reputable printer.

The final editing, sizing, cutting, proof reading, revising and ordering were all as exciting as they were scary. Finally, I received the news that the book was ready to be printed!

Now the waiting game begun... and the waiting was a little longer than anticipated because the printer had to close due to the Corona virus...

Two weeks ago I finally received the books and I am thrilled that I can now share it with you.

I hope that you will enjoy Sweet Mixie! It would be much appreciated if you could share your feedback or post a sweet photo as a review on instagram @SweetMixie
